1952 - Carrier Qualification tests of the FJ-2 Fury aboard USS Coral Sea. The initial carrier qualification tests did not go very well. The new landing gear and arresting hook bumper were too weak for carrier landings under realistic conditions, and the aircraft handled poorly during carrier approaches and landings.
