1983 - USS Coral Sea CV-43 World Cruise patch. This patch is just a really weird reproduction of the USS America 1970 World Cruise to Vietnam - [See patch to the right!]. You will note America's 1970 hull number (CVA 66) and CVW 9, the air wing embarked aboard America for the 1970 cruise. Coral Sea carried CVW 14 on her 1983 World Cruise, not CVW 9.
